Classification of Particles, Quarks & Particle Interactions

Introduction

The Standard Model classifies subatomic particles into different groups according to their properties and behaviour. Understanding how particles are organised helps physicists explain the structure of matter and the interactions that occur within the universe.

In this topic, students learn how particles are classified as hadrons, leptons and photons. They also explore the differences between baryons and mesons and develop an understanding of the particle families that form the basis of modern particle Physics.

With Sarah's help my daughter managed to gain an A* in her Physics A Level exams (almost 100% on paper 2!) and was able to gain entry to UCL. We are so proud and cannot thank Sarah enough.

Sarah transformed my daughter's approach to Physics. Her examiner insight was invaluable for boosting her final GCSE grade from a 7 to a 9.
